What Was Your BEST SALE EVER?

Every year I ask agents to send me their craziest AEP experience and I send out the hilarious compilation at Christmas. This year I want to start a new video series on the wonderful things that agents do.

Companies don't see all the good deeds we do in the field, but they are quick to come down on us when we have a minor transgression of the complex and ever-changing rules.

Agents still make house calls. We often drive a long distance to sit with our clients for 1-2 hours trying to explain complex and every-changing Medicare plans. Share you story with me at sgordon@gordonmarketing.com. If you'd like to be featured in a video sharing your story, let me know that in your email. You will be able to use the video on your website and your social media.

I had a direct mail lead for a MAPD. When I got there she had Humana and was very happy with her current plan. She looked to be low income so I asked her if she had Extra Help with her prescriptions. She did not, so I helped her apply. Then told her to contact her existing agent when she received her letter as he could assist her from there (she had said she liked her agent.)

Two months later she called me and thanked me for getting her help with her Rx and asked if I would come back out and become her agent. I said that she had told me she was very happy with her existing agent and I didn't want to step on his toes. "You helped me save a lot of money, I want YOU." Todd said, "When I got out there she had invited over several friends who then also became clients! When I helped her apply for Extra Help I was genuinely never expecting to see her again.

I had a lady referred to me that was 68 years old. She and her husband had Original Medicare only, and were both struggling with several medical conditions. She said that she had talked to several insurance agents over the past few years and she understood that they were not eligible for a Medicare Supplement because they were sick. She just wanted help with her Rx. I asked how he felt about MAPD plans and she had no knowledge they existed. Her prior agents ONLY sold Medicare Supps! She was so happy when she found out they could both get coverage on a MAPD that she started crying...so hard that she had to call back later...and then started crying again. She said I had no idea how much this would help them as they were both facing some outpatient surgeries next year. I felt so great to help them!
